Job Description:

Prime Partners, a leading electrical contractor specializing in commercial and big box retail construction projects, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Voice & Data Technician to join our team in San Jose, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting voice and data lines in a variety of commercial and retail settings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, manage, and troubleshoot telecommunications systems, including VOIP, analog, and digital systems.
2. Run, pull, splice, and terminate cables to ensure optimum network usage.
3. Test and calibrate cables and equipment to ensure system performance.
4. Work with other team members to complete large-scale projects.
5. Identify, track, and resolve issues impacting project timelines.
6. Maintain safety standards and compliance with all relevant regulations.
7. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
8. Prepare and submit detailed job reports and documentation.
9. Train and mentor junior technicians as necessary.
10. Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry standards and advancements.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent is required. An Associate’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field is preferred.
2. Must possess a minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Voice & Data Technician in the commercial construction or big box retail sector.
3. Strong knowledge of electrical industry standards and local codes.
4. Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
5. Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience with testing equipment.
6. Solid understanding of voice and data systems, including VOIP, analog, and digital systems.
7. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
9. Must have a strong commitment to safety and compliance with all safety regulations.
10. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various working conditions.
