Fire Alarm Installer at Prime Partners

Job Description:

Prime Partners is seeking a professional and experienced Fire Alarm Installer to join our team in San Jose, CA. This position will primarily involve installing fire alarm systems in various commercial properties such as new construction office buildings, hospitals, big box retail stores, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, program and repair fire alarm systems in accordance with state and local codes.
2. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics and operational/product manuals.
3. Evaluate site conditions and design fire alarm systems that meet the customer’s requirements and expectations.
4. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of systems to ensure they are functioning correctly.
5. Perform system checks for proper operation and to ensure system integrity.
6. Conduct customer training on system operation and functional testing.
7. Coordinate with construction contractors and provide technical support as needed.
8. Respond to customer service calls, troubleshoot and make necessary repairs to fire alarm systems.
9. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Required Qualifications and Certifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum 2 years of experience in fire alarm installation.
3. Knowledge of electrical systems and fire alarm equipment.
4. NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code Certification is preferred.
5. Strong understanding of local and state fire and electrical codes.
6. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
7. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Service Area:

This position will cover San Jose and surrounding cities. The candidate must be willing to travel within this area.

Specific Tools and Equipment Knowledge:

1. Experience with various hand and power tools.
2. Knowledge of fire alarm control panels, initiating devices, indicating appliances, and wiring.
3. Familiarity with electronic test equipment.
