Job Description: Fire Alarm Technician

Prime Partners, a leading provider of fire safety and security solutions, is looking for a skilled and experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join our dynamic team in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems in new construction office buildings and hospitals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install and program new fire alarm systems in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association standards, local building codes, and company guidelines.
2. Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, and preventive maintenance of fire alarm systems.
3. Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain existing fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and efficiently.
4. Conduct thorough inspections of fire alarm systems and make recommendations for system improvements and upgrades.
5. Respond to emergency service calls and resolve customer issues in a timely and efficient manner.
6. Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of all installations, inspections, maintenance, and repair work.
7. Train customers on the proper use of fire alarm systems and provide them with ongoing technical support.

Required Qualifications and Certifications:

1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician.
2. A high school diploma or equivalent. A degree in a related field is preferred.
3. Certifications such as NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) in fire alarm systems are highly desirable.
4. Extensive knowledge of National Fire Protection Association standards and local building codes.
5. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong communication and customer service skills.
7. Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Service Area:

The Fire Alarm Technician will primarily serve San Diego and surrounding cities.

Specific Tools and Equipment Knowledge:

The candidate should be proficient in using a variety of tools and equipment such as multimeters, wire strippers, and conduit benders. Knowledge of specific fire alarm systems and software is also required.

Safety Requirements and Protocols:

The candidate will adhere to all safety requirements and protocols. This includes wearing personal protective equipment, following safety procedures when working with electrical systems, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
