Job Description
Prime Partners is looking for motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Apprentice Electricians to join our team in San Diego, CA. This is an incredible opportunity to work on cutting-edge commercial projects, including office complexes, healthcare facilities, retail centers, and more. You’ll gain hands-on experience while collaborating with skilled electricians to bring dynamic electrical systems to life.
This role will expose you to a wide range of commercial electrical installations and systems, offering the perfect environment to grow your expertise in a professional and supportive setting. From downtown San Diego to Chula Vista and Escondido, your work will make a significant impact in the region.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of lighting fixtures, power outlets, and distribution systems for commercial properties.
- Work on electrical layouts, measuring and marking locations for conduit and wiring.
- Help install and connect electrical equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, and switchgear.
- Perform cable pulling, routing, and termination for power and low-voltage systems.
- Collaborate on the installation of energy-efficient solutions, including LED retrofits.
- Support troubleshooting and diagnostics of existing commercial electrical systems.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain compliance with state and local codes.
- Keep tools and materials organized to ensure an efficient job site.
Required
- Valid ET (Electrical Trainee) card registered with the State of California.
- Familiarity with basic electrical systems and safety practices.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions.
- Reliable transportation to job sites across San Diego County and nearby cities like La Mesa, Carlsbad, and El Cajon.
- Physical capability to lift materials, climb ladders, and work in various environments.
Tools & Equipment Experience
- Hand tools: channel locks, adjustable wrenches, and tape measures.
- Power tools: cordless drills, saws, and conduit benders.
- Knowledge of basic testing equipment, such as multimeters and voltage testers.
- Experience with ladder work and scissor lifts for high-reach tasks.
- Use of wire pulling devices and conduit threading equipment.
Nice-to-Haves
- Understanding of backup power systems and generators.
- Experience with security and surveillance system installations.
- Familiarity with solar panel wiring and EV charging stations.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with potential overtime and occasional weekend projects.
