About the role:
We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the electrical industry and be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Install and configure fire alarm systems in accordance with manufacturer instructions and local codes.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Respond to and resolve service calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify and rectify any issues or malfunctions with fire alarm systems.
- Keep accurate records of completed work, and provide detailed reports of any malfunctions or repairs needed.
- Stay up-to-date on industry standards and any new innovations in fire alarm technology.
- Conduct fire alarm system tests to ensure functionality and compliance with state and local regulations.
- Coordinate with other team members to complete projects on schedule.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving.
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fire alarm installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and fire alarm technology.
- Up-to-date knowledge of local and state fire safety regulations.
- NICET Fire Alarm Certification is a plus.
- Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of working independently and in a team setting.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the role, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Working Conditions:
This role requires both indoor and outdoor work, and may involve exposure to adverse weather conditions. The Fire Alarm Technician may also be required to work in tight spaces, at heights, and occasionally lift heavy equipment. Regular travel to client locations within the San Diego area is required.
