Fire Alarm Technician at Prime Partners

Job Description:

Prime Partners is seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and certified Fire Alarm Technician with a minimum of 2 years of experience in designing, installing, repairing, and maintaining fire alarm systems in new construction office buildings and hospitals. The candidate should have proven expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining existing fire alarm systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installing, repairing, and maintaining fire alarm systems, including wiring, devices, panels, and annunciators in new construction office buildings and hospitals.
2. Inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and national fire codes.
3. Troubleshooting and diagnosing system malfunctions, locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
4. Performing preventive maintenance tasks to avoid potential system failures.
5. Providing technical assistance and training to customers, explaining complex technical issues in an understandable manner.
6. Providing emergency after-hours service as part of a rotating on-call schedule.
7. Keeping records of all work activities and preparing detailed reports.
8. Ensuring that all work is conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, including safety protocols.

Required Qualifications and Certifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician.
3. NICET Level II certification in Fire Alarm Systems or equivalent.
4. Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards.
5. Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
6. Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.

Specific Tools and Equipment Knowledge:

1. Familiarity with various types of fire alarm systems including addressable, conventional, and wireless systems.
2. Expertise in using electrical diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
3. Knowledge of computer networking systems and programming.

1. Follow all company and site safety rules and regulations.
2. Maintain clean and safe work areas.
3. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
4. Attend and pass all safety training and certifications as required.
