Overview of the Plant Journeyman Electrician Role

The Plant Journeyman Electrician at Helix Electric plays a pivotal role in the delivery and maintenance of electrical systems within an industrial environment. This position involves working on a variety of industrial projects, including manufacturing plants, data centers, and processing facilities. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of electrical systems and possess the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, challenging setting, ensuring all work is performed to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Essential Functions

• Key Responsibilities for Industrial Projects

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components in industrial settings.
  • Interpret electrical blueprints and code books to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Perform conduit bending and install wiring, control, and lighting systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues efficiently, implementing effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other trades to coordinate work schedules and ensure timely project completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used, adhering to Helix Electric’s documentation standards.
  • Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols and industry regulations.

• Required Certifications

  • Confined Space Certification
  • CA State Journeyman License

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 4-8 years of electrical experience, preferably in an industrial setting.
• Valid electrical license for the state of California.
• Proficiency in using code books and reading blueprints.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical safety practices and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• CA State Journeyman License certification.
• Proven experience with conduit bending.
• Previous experience working on industrial projects, such as data centers and manufacturing facilities.

Location & Schedule

• Primary Location: Oxnard, CA
• Neighboring Cities: Ventura, Camarillo, Port Hueneme, and Thousand Oaks.
• Schedule: Full-time position with opportunities for overtime based on project needs.
