Job Title: Commercial Journeyman Electrician

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled, experienced, and dedicated Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial buildings. They will also be expected to troubleshoot electrical issues, conduct regular inspections, and ensure the safety and compliance of all electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in commercial buildings while ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal electrical codes.
2. Conduct regular tests and inspections on electrical systems, including circuit breakers, transformers, and wiring to identify and fix potential issues in a timely manner.
3. Read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams related to electrical systems.
4. Collaborate with architects and engineers on new construction to ensure the proper installation of electrical systems.
5. Provide assistance in emergencies by fixing faults on electrical systems to prevent accidents.
6. Train and mentor apprentices and junior electricians, guiding them on the intricacies of the job.
7. Troubleshoot complex electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
8. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, and maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Qualifications:

1. Valid California Journeyman Electrician License.
2. Proven experience as a commercial electrician with a minimum of 5 years in the field.
3. Extensive knowledge of commercial electrical systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
4. Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
5. Strong understanding of local, state, and federal electrical codes.
6. Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to handle complex electrical issues.
7. Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team.
8. High school diploma or equivalent; further education in electrical engineering or a related field will be a plus.
9. Physical fitness, with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in different weather conditions.

Requirements:

1. Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
2. Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends when necessary.
3. Must own a full set of electrician’s hand tools.
4. Must adhere to all company’s rules and regulations.
5. Must pass a drug test and background check.
