Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced, dedicated Fire Alarm Technician for our team in Irvine, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings. This person should be well-versed in all aspects of fire alarm systems, including programming, troubleshooting, and testing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, repair, and maintain fire alarm systems in accordance with state and local regulations.
2. Evaluate and diagnose issues with fire alarm systems and implement effective solutions.
3. Conduct regular testing and inspections of fire alarm systems to ensure optimal functionality.
4. Provide technical assistance and guidance to clients regarding the operation and maintenance of their fire alarm systems.
5. Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain necessary parts and equipment.
6. Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation of all installation, repair, and maintenance activities.
7. Stay current with the latest fire alarm technology developments, installation methods, and safety regulations.
8. Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer concerns, and ensuring their needs are met satisfactorily.
9. Work collaboratively with a team, sharing knowledge and learning from colleagues.

Key Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program in fire alarm technology or related field is preferred.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician.
3. Knowledge of local and state fire and electrical codes.
4. Proficient in using hand and power tools used in the trade.
5. Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
6. Strong understanding of fire alarm system designs and applications.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements:

1. Valid California Driver’s License.
2. NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems Level II or higher is preferred.
3. Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
4. Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
5. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and on-call as needed.
6. Must adhere to all safety regulations and best practices.
