Job Description:

Prime Partners, a leading electrical company specializing in commercial work, mainly new construction and big box retail, is seeking a skilled Voice & Data Technician to join our team in San Diego, CA. The candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing voice, data, and electronic communications systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation of voice and data systems in new construction and big box retail environments.
2. Test, troubleshoot, and repair voice and data systems.
3. Install, maintain, and repair cables for network communication.
4. Follow blueprints and industry specifications to install wiring, hardware, and other electrical components.
5. Regularly inspect systems to ensure they meet local and national codes, and are operating efficiently.
6. Document all installations, adjustments, and repairs.
7. Work with project managers and team members to complete projects within established timelines and budgets.
8. Ensure the safety of all systems and procedures.
9. Provide exceptional customer service and maintain professional communication with clients.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Voice & Data Technician in commercial work, preferably in new construction and big box retail.
3. Familiarity with local and national electrical codes and safety standards.
4. Proven ability to read blueprints and follow industry specifications.
5. Excellent troubleshooting skills.
6. Strong customer service skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Ability to handle physical workload, including lifting heavy equipment and working in different weather conditions.
9. Valid driver’s license is required.

Requirements:

1. Certification in electrical or telecommunications is a plus.
2. Must be willing to travel to surrounding cities including Chula Vista, La Mesa, Encinitas, and El Cajon.
3. Must be available for occasional weekend and evening work.
4. Must pass a background check and drug screening.
