This position requires a strong understanding of low voltage cabling and the ability to work independently to meet the connectivity needs of schools and universities.

Key Responsibilities for Cable Tech at WiLine

• Install, test, and troubleshoot cable systems in educational environments.
• Collaborate with school IT departments to ensure optimal network performance.
• Document installations and service calls for future reference.

Low Voltage Cabling Installation

• Install and terminate cables according to industry standards.
• Ensure neat and organized cable management.
• Conduct tests to verify cable integrity and performance.

Tool Proficiency for Daily Tasks for Cable Tech

• Proficient with hand tools and power tools.
• Familiarity with cable testing equipment.
• Ability to operate scissor lifts and ladders safely.

Daily Tasks

• Perform site surveys and assessments for new project installations.
• Execute planned cable installations and repairs.
• Provide technical support and guidance to educational staff.

Project Involvement

• Participate in project planning meetings with clients.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Assist in the development of customized solutions for unique school requirements.

Qualifications for Cable Tech at WiLine

• 2-4 years of experience in cable installation and maintenance.
• Required certification: Fiber Optic Certification.
• Experience with: Termination Equipment, Fiber Optic Tools.
• Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and climb ladders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certification: BICSI Technician.
• Experience with: Wire Mapping Tools.

Location & Schedule

• Primary location: San Jose, CA.
• Additional locations: Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Cupertino, Mountain View.
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday with occasional weekends as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $22.48-$27.4 per hour.
