Overview of Industrial Journeyman Electrician Role

As an Industrial Journeyman Electrician at Helix Electric, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of our industrial projects. This position requires a seasoned professional capable of applying their electrical expertise in dynamic and challenging environments. You will work on projects that include manufacturing plants, data centers, and processing facilities. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that all electrical systems are installed and functioning according to established codes and safety standards.

Essential Functions

• Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures for industrial projects.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Interpret and apply technical specifications and blueprints.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and testing to ensure the integrity of all electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with other trades to ensure project timelines and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols, including Arc Flash Safety and Confined Space procedures.

• Required Certifications:

  • Arc Flash Safety certification.
  • Confined Space certification.

• Experience With:

  • Blueprint reading.
  • Conduit bending.
  • Code books.

• Typical Projects:

  • Manufacturing plants.
  • Data centers.
  • Processing facilities.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 4-8 years of electrical experience in an industrial setting.
• Licensure: Valid electrical license for the state of California.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in blueprint reading and conduit bending.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working in confined spaces.
• Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices in an industrial environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Confined Space certification.
• Familiarity with code books.
• Demonstrated experience working on industrial projects.

Location & Schedule

• Primary Location: San Jose, CA.
• Neighboring Cities: Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Milpitas, and Campbell.
• Schedule: Full-time position with potential for overtime based on project needs.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $39.94-$46.12 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
