We are seeking a Voice & Data Cable Installer to join our Fremont, CA team. Job Responsibilities

Installation and Setup

• Install and terminate Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optic cables with precision.
• Route and secure cabling through pathways, conduits, and cable trays in data centers and office buildings.
• Set up racks, patch panels, and network equipment while adhering to project specifications and timelines.

Testing and Troubleshooting

• Perform cable testing and certification using industry-standard tools such as Fluke testers.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with connectivity and cabling infrastructure efficiently.

Adherence to Standards

• Follow BICSI standards, TIA/EIA specifications, and OSHA safety guidelines.
• Ensure all installations comply with client and regulatory requirements for safety and quality.

Communication and Reporting

• Collaborate with clients, project managers, and team members to ensure seamless project execution.
• Provide regular updates on progress and address any challenges proactively.

General Maintenance

• Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory to ensure efficient workflow.
• Participate in training sessions to stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BICSI Installer Level 1 or higher certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification is advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in voice and data cabling installation.
• Strong background in fiber optic cabling, including termination and troubleshooting.
• Experience with data center projects or large-scale office installations is highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies

• Comprehensive knowledge of structured cabling systems, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fiber optics.
• Familiarity with BICSI and TIA/EIA standards.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Skilled in using power tools, testing equipment, and other cabling tools.
• Problem-solving mindset with excellent troubleshooting abilities.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on ladders or in confined spaces.
• Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions (e.g., construction sites, server rooms).
