Requirements for Cable Technician

Key Responsibilities for Cable Technician at T&D Communications

• Install and configure low voltage cabling systems, including data, voice, and video cables.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of cabling systems.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion.

Low Voltage Cabling Installation

• Expertise in structured cabling systems for educational facilities.
• Proficient in installing Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cables.
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for cable installation.

Tool Proficiency for Daily Tasks

• Familiarity with cable installation tools such as crimpers, strippers, and punch-down tools.
• Ability to use cable testers and diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting.
• Experience with power tools for installation and mounting procedures.

Daily Tasks

• Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine cabling needs.
• Install, terminate, and test cabling infrastructure.
• Document and report project progress and any issues encountered.

Project Involvement

• Work on projects involving new installations, upgrades, and expansions of communication systems.
• Coordinate with project managers and clients to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.

Qualifications for Cable Technician at T&D Communications

• 2-5 years of experience in cabling installation and maintenance.
• Required certification: OSHA 10.
• Experience with cable management systems and termination equipment.
• Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environmental conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

Location & Schedule

• Primary location: Marina del Rey, CA.
• Additional locations: Santa Monica, Venice, Culver City, and Playa Vista.
• Schedule: Full-time with occasional travel to project sites.
