Key Responsibilities

• Install and dress Category 6/6A cabling systems with precision.
• Terminate copper and fiber connections ensuring high-quality standards.
• Maintain proper cable management in server racks for optimal performance.
• Install overhead cable trays and ladder racks efficiently.
• Perform comprehensive cable testing and certification to ensure reliability.
• Document test results and warranties meticulously.
• Uphold clean room protocols and maintain organized work areas.
• Organize patch panel layouts for seamless network configurations.
• Implement proper cable routing and separation techniques.
• Assist with fiber trunk installation as required.
• Maintain detailed and accurate labeling systems.
• Adapt to regional compliance standards specific to the Indianapolis area.
• Engage in the upcoming “Indy Connect” project, focusing on expanding the city’s data infrastructure.
• Ensure all work meets Indiana’s safety and installation standards.

Required Qualifications

• BICSI Installer 1 certification preferred for enhanced credibility and expertise.
• Proven experience with structured cabling systems.
• Proficiency in cable termination techniques and testing procedures.
• Strong understanding of cable management best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret network drawings.
• Experience with comprehensive labeling systems.
• Keen attention to detail for flawless execution.
• Basic understanding of network hardware and its applications.
• 1-3 years of experience required in Voice Data work within a commercial setting.
• Familiarity with Indianapolis infrastructure and local tech networks.
• Ability to travel to various sites within the greater Indianapolis area.
