The Data Center Cable Tech at Convergint in Indianapolis, IN, plays a critical role in supporting healthcare facilities projects. This position involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting data center cabling infrastructure across Indianapolis and neighboring areas. The technician will ensure reliable and efficient communication networks within healthcare environments, contributing to the seamless operation of essential facilities.
Essential Functions for Data Center Cable Tech
- Install, test, and maintain fiber optic and copper cabling systems in healthcare facilities.
- Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal network performance.
- Collaborate with project teams to execute cabling projects on time and within budget.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards while working in sensitive healthcare settings.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, and repairs.
Required Qualifications for Data Center Cable Tech at Convergint
- 3-6 years of experience in data center cabling or a related field.
- Required certification: Fiber Optic Certification.
- Proficient in using Fluke Testing Equipment and Corning Fiber Systems.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certification: Panduit Certification.
- Experience with: Fluke Testing Equipment.
- Specialized experience in healthcare facility projects.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in cabling installations.
Location & Schedule
- Primary location: Indianapolis, IN.
- Additional locations: Carmel, Fishers, Greenwood, Noblesville, and surrounding areas.
- Schedule: Full-time, with potential for overtime and on-call work as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $29.04-$35.1 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
