Job Overview
As a Cable Tech in our Commercial Division, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cabling systems across a wide range of commercial projects. You will work closely with project managers and other technicians to ensure that all cabling systems are installed efficiently and meet industry standards. Your work will contribute to the seamless operation of critical infrastructures within office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools, making a tangible difference in our clients’ day-to-day operations.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair cabling systems in commercial settings, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Perform regular inspections and testing of installed systems to ensure functionality and compliance with safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to cabling systems promptly and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
Certifications
- Network+ Certification
- BICSI Installer 2 Certification
Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years of electrical experience.
- Valid electrical license for the state of Indiana.
- Proficient in using Cable Management Tools and Fiber Splicers (Fujikura).
- Familiarity with Cable Certifiers (Fluke DSX) is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience working on commercial projects is an advantage.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Capable of standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
Safety Knowledge
- Comprehensive understanding of workplace safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate safety measures.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Cable Certifiers (Fluke DSX).
- Previous work on commercial projects, demonstrating a strong grasp of industry standards and best practices.
Location & Schedule
The primary location for this position is Indianapolis, IN. Neighboring cities include Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Greenwood, and Lawrence. This role requires a full-time commitment, with occasional travel to project sites within the region.

- Competitive hourly wage ranging from $22.93 to $25.93, depending on experience and qualifications.
