Fiber Optic Splicing Technician

Staley Technologies is seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Splicing Technician to join our team in Miami, FL. You will play a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks for our clients, which include managed service providers, enterprise clients, and cloud services based in colocation facilities. As a leader of a team of 4-6 technicians, your expertise will ensure efficient project delivery and high-quality service. This position operates during the first shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM and includes travel within a 30-mile radius of the home base.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 4-6 fiber optic technicians.
• Perform fiber optic splicing and testing using advanced tools such as power meters, fusion splicers, OTDR, and visual fault locators.
• Coordinate installations and maintenance tasks within colocation facilities.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols.
• Troubleshoot and resolve fiber optic issues in a timely manner.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members to meet project goals.
• Maintain thorough documentation of splicing and testing activities.

Required Qualifications

• 4-7 years of experience in fiber optic splicing.
• BICSI Technician and ETA Fiber Optics certifications.
• Proficiency with power meters, fusion splicers, OTDR, and visual fault locators.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
• Ability to travel within a 30-mile radius of Miami, FL.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced certifications in BICSI Technician and ETA Fiber Optics.
• Experience working in colocation facilities.
• Familiarity with Miami’s technological landscape and infrastructure.
