Position Overview

Staley Technologies is seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Splicing Technician to join our team in Las Vegas, NV. This specialized position involves working in edge data centers with telecom providers, content delivery networks, and IoT services. The successful candidate will possess a high level of technical expertise to support our operations within a vibrant and rapidly evolving city landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform precise fiber optic splicing and terminations.
• Maintain and troubleshoot fiber optic connections within edge data centers.
• Collaborate effectively with a specialized team of 3-5 technicians.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Regularly travel to nearby major cities in support of regional projects.
• Document and report on splicing activities and cable plant conditions.

Required Qualifications

• 4-7 years of fiber optic splicing experience.
• Certification as an OFC Specialist.
• BICSI Technician certification.
• Proficient in using Visual Fault Locators, Power Meters, OTDR, and Fusion Splicers.
• Ability to work standard business hours with occasional flexibility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced understanding of fiber optic network design.
• Experience working in edge data centers.
• Strong problem-solving skills in high-pressure environments.
• Customer-focused with excellent communication abilities.
