Voice & Data Technician at Prime Partners

Job Title: Voice & Data Technician Company: Prime Partners Location: San Francisco, CA (Including surrounding cities)

Job Description: Prime Partners is seeking a skilled Voice & Data Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing voice, data, and electronic communications systems. This position will focus on commercial projects, specifically new construction and big box retail. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in the electrical industry and a strong understanding of voice and data installations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain voice and data cables, including Cat 5, Cat 6, and fiber optic lines in commercial settings.

2. Inspect installation sites to determine materials and tools required to complete the job.

3. Perform terminations, labeling, and testing of cabling in accordance with industry standards.

4. Install, maintain, and repair telecommunication systems, including telephones and VoIP networks.

5. Coordinate with construction teams to ensure proper installation and maintenance of services.

6. Interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and other technical documents.

7. Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.

8. Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and team members.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training or apprenticeship in a related field is preferred.

2. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Voice & Data Technician in the electrical industry.

3. Experience with commercial work and big box retail projects is a must.

4. Knowledge of industry standards and city codes.

5. Proficient in using electrical and manual tools.

6. Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of network layouts.

7. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

8. Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.

9. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.

Requirements:

1. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).

2. Willingness to work overtime, evenings, and weekends when necessary.

3. Capability to work in various weather and site conditions.

4. Must pass a drug screening and background check.
