About Prime Partners:

Prime Partners is a reputable company in the electrical industry, specializing in commercial work, primarily new construction, and big box retail. We are looking for a competent Voice & Data Technician to join our team in Mountain View, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation, termination and testing of all aspects of voice, data, security, and video network structured cabling.
2. Efficient in coordinating and installing conduit and wire, fiber optic and copper cables for voice/data, WiFi, security and video networks.
3. Perform site surveys, installation plans, and issue resolution with clients.
4. Troubleshoot, identify, and fix problems related to networking, routers, switches, and firewalls.
5. Inspect installation sites to ensure that design specifications are met and safety standards adhered to.
6. Maintenance and repair of voice and data cabling systems.
7. Maintain and operate tools for the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of all cabling, including fiber optics.
8. Keep updated documentation of network systems, layouts, and capacities.
9. Collaborate closely with other team members and departments.
10. Adhere to all company policies and procedures ensuring a safe and secure work environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the installation of structured cabling for voice/data, WiFi, security, and video networks.
3. In-depth knowledge of industry standards and city codes.
4. Experience in commercial work, mainly new construction and big box retail.
5. Familiarity with power tools and industry-specific equipment.
6. Good understanding of IP-based technology.
7. Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
8. Proficient in the use of test equipment including network testing tools and fiber optic testers.
9. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
10. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
11. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to various job sites within the Mountain View area and surrounding cities.

Working Conditions:

The Voice & Data Technician role is physically demanding and often involves working in a variety of climatic conditions, at heights and in confined spaces. Technicians must be able to lift and carry objects that weigh 50 pounds or more.
