About the Position:

We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our established team in Mountain View, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems and be proficient in inspecting, installing, and repairing fire alarm systems. This individual will ensure the functionality of systems, maintain safety standards, and provide excellent customer service. The role requires a detail-oriented person with excellent problem-solving skills and experience in the electrical industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, inspect, and repair fire alarm systems in accordance with local and national fire codes.

2. Perform routine inspections and tests of fire alarm systems to ensure they are in good working order.

3. Identify potential issues and repair or replace components as necessary.

4. Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to ensure proper installation and operation of fire alarm systems.

5. Provide training and guidance to customers on fire alarm system operation.

6. Respond to emergency service calls and troubleshoot system malfunctions.

7. Prepare service reports and document all performed activities.

8. Maintain a safe work environment by following established safety rules and regulations.

9. Stay updated with the latest fire safety standards, codes, and best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred.

2. Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Fire Alarm Technician or similar role in the electrical industry.

3. Valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record.

4. Must hold a fire alarm system certification or be willing to obtain one.

5. Proficient in using electrical and manual tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter etc.)

6. Strong understanding of fire safety codes and regulations.

7. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

8. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

9. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, if required.

10. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex systems in a simple manner.

11. Physical fitness, as the job may require lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
