Job Title: Voice & Data Technician

Location: Mesa, AZ, with occasional travel to surrounding cities such as Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, and Scottsdale.

Job Overview: Prime Partners, a leading player in the electrical industry specializing in commercial work, new construction, and big box retail, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Voice & Data Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing voice and data cables in commercial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair voice and data cables, including coaxial, Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic cables.
2. Conduct in-depth inspections to ensure optimal system performance, identify potential issues, and implement necessary repairs or upgrades.
3. Work with blueprints, architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings to complete assigned projects.
4. Provide onsite technical and operational support in the design, development, installation and maintenance of equipment and systems.
5. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal electrical codes and safety regulations.
6. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure efficient and timely project completion.
7. Troubleshoot network issues and implement corrective actions.
8. Provide regular status updates, reports and final inspection documents to project managers.

Qualifications & Requirements:

1. High School diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree or vocational school training in electrical systems, telecommunications, or a related field is preferred.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Voice & Data Technician or in a similar role.
3. Must possess a strong understanding of voice and data cables including coaxial, Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic cables.
4. Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and electrical diagrams.
5. Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal electrical codes and safety regulations.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
7. Able to lift and carry heavy equipment and work in varying weather conditions.
8. Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record as some travel to surrounding cities will be required.
9. BICSI certification or equivalent industry certification is a plus.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
