Security Technician at Prime Partners

Job Description:

Prime Partners is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Technician to join our team in Mesa, Arizona. Your primary role will include the installation, maintenance, and repair of security systems in commercial properties such as new construction office buildings, hospitals, big box retail stores, and other commercial structures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install and program new alarm and security systems, including CCTV, access control systems, and fire alarm systems.

2. Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in security systems to ensure they function properly.

3. Conduct routine preventive maintenance on security systems to reduce the chance of unexpected breakdowns.

4. Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.

5. Test and adjust system components and equipment, using testing and measuring instruments such as multi-meters.

6. Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.

7. Provide customers with cost estimates for equipment installation or repair.

8. Maintain reports of all security incidents, and provide recommendations for improvements.

Required Qualifications and Certifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent

2. A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Security Technician or a similar role in the security industry.

3. Certifications such as Certified Alarm/Security Technician (CAST) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) will be an added advantage.

4. Knowledge of local, state, and national security codes.

5. Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.

6. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Specific Tools and Equipment Knowledge:

1. Proficiency in using electronic test equipment and hand tools.

2. Experience with various security system brands and equipment, including alarms, CCTV, and access control systems.

3. Knowledge of IP, wireless, and integrated security solutions.

Safety Requirements and Protocols:

1. Adherence to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.

2. Knowledge of electrical safety measures and protocols.

3. Ability to identify and mitigate potential risks during installation or repair.
