Job Description: The Voice & Data Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing voice, data, and electronic communication systems. This includes working on new construction and big box retail projects. The successful candidate will be familiar with industry best practices and standards, ensure compliance with codes, and be committed to providing superior service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, and repair voice, data, and electronic communication systems.
2. Test and troubleshoot issues with network communication systems, including network and switch systems.
3. Inspect and service telecommunication devices in frequent use.
4. Conduct regular inspections of systems to ensure optimal functioning.
5. Repair or replace faulty equipment such as wiring, switches, and network hardware.
6. Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure the efficiency of systems.
7. Comply with all safety procedures and regulations.
8. Keep detailed records of work performed, materials used, and other relevant information.
9. Provide superior customer service, ensuring all installations, repairs, and maintenance meet quality standards.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. 2+ years of experience in voice and data installation and service, preferably in a commercial setting.
3. In-depth knowledge of voice and data systems, as well as electrical codes and standards.
4. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
5. Strong communication and customer service skills.
6. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
7. Proficiency in using hand and power tools effectively and safely.
8. Must be able to stand or kneel for long periods and lift heavy equipment.
9. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Requirements:

1. BICSI Installer certification or equivalent is preferred.
2. Must be willing to travel to surrounding cities for projects.
3. Must be available for potential after hours and weekend work.
4. Must pass a background check and drug screening.
