Job Title: Commercial Journeyman Electrician

Job Location: Cupertino, CA

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our team in Cupertino, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial settings. This individual will also be responsible for ensuring all electrical work performed is in compliance with governmental regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in commercial settings.
2. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
3. Ensure compliance with codes.
4. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
5. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
6. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
7. Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
8. Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
9. Maintain current electrician’s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
10. Provide assistance during emergencies by operating floodlights and generators, placing flares, etc.
11. Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Valid California Journeyman Electrician License.
3. Minimum of 4 years of experience as a journeyman electrician in a commercial setting.
4. Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and all necessary equipment.
5. Able to work well independently and in a team setting.
6. Familiarity with all necessary safety procedures and regulations.
7. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
8. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
9. Ability to work at heights, including on rooftops and in cramped spaces.
10. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
11. Must be willing to work overtime and on-call as needed.
