What You’ll Do as a Journeyman Electrician

At Prime Partners, as a Journeyman Electrician, you’ll be an essential player in our multi-year project in Anaheim, CA, with additional projects in nearby cities such as Fullerton, Santa Ana, and Orange. Your role involves working on cutting-edge commercial new construction projects, where your expertise in electrical systems will ensure efficient and safe installations. You’ll be the backbone of our electrical team, turning complex plans into functional power systems.

Your Daily Tasks as a Journeyman Electrician

As a Journeyman Electrician, your day will begin with reviewing project plans and blueprints to strategize your work. You will plan, layout, and install complete electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and energy management systems. This involves reading and interpreting complex blueprints, electrical schematics, and building plans to execute precise installations.

You’ll be responsible for installing various conduit systems—EMT, rigid, and flex—and pulling wire to make terminations for panels, switches, and outlets. Troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues will be crucial to maintaining safety and compliance on the job site. Ensuring all work aligns with local, state, and national codes while adhering to OSHA safety standards is paramount.

Additional daily tasks include performing routine maintenance and inspections to prevent electrical failures, collaborating with other trades to streamline the construction process, and documenting all installations and repairs for future reference and compliance.

What You Need to Be a Journeyman Electrician

To thrive as a Journeyman Electrician at Prime Partners, you must hold a valid license from the CA Department of Industrial Relations. With over 5 years of experience in commercial electrical installations, you should possess extensive knowledge of power systems, lighting, and controls. Proficiency in operating specialized electrical tools and equipment is essential.

You should be adept at supervising apprentices, guiding them through the complexities of electrical work, and coordinating smoothly with multiple trades on the construction site. Key skills include a strong understanding of NEC codes, the ability to read complex diagrams, and excellent problem-solving abilities. A hands-on approach and attention to detail will set you apart in this role.

Compensation
