Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the electrical industry, specifically with fire alarm systems, and will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems in commercial and residential properties.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install and maintain a wide variety of fire alarm systems and related equipment.
2. Conduct regular testing to ensure that all fire alarm systems are fully functional.
3. Identify and repair any issues with fire alarm systems, such as wiring problems or malfunctions.
4. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to customers.
5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant codes and regulations.
6. Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
7. Prepare and present reports detailing all testing, inspections, and maintenance work.
8. Assist in the training of new technicians.
9. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
10. Adhere to all quality and safety codes.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
2. 3+ years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or in a similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of electrical systems and fire alarm technology.
4. Familiarity with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards.
5. Must hold a valid state driver’s license.
6. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
7. Strong communication and customer service skills.
8. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
10. Physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and working in tight spaces.
11. Certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) in Fire Alarm Systems Level II or higher is a plus.
