About the Role:

We are currently seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. This position will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems to ensure their efficiency and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety.

Responsibilities:

1. Install, inspect, and repair fire alarm systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
2. Perform regular, preventative maintenance on alarm systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
3. Troubleshoot and identify malfunctions and system failures, and repair or replace faulty equipment as needed.
4. Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features in order to ensure systems are working properly.
5. Provide guidance and training to customers on how to use the system effectively.
6. Prepare service reports, indicating the system status and any recommendations for improvements.
7. Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical or vocational training preferred.
2. At least 2 years of experience working as a fire alarm technician.
3. Familiarity with the various types of fire alarm systems, including their installation, maintenance, and repair.
4. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.
5. Knowledge of local, state, and federal fire alarm and electrical codes.
6. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong communication and customer service skills.
8. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Requirements:

1. Must have a NICET Level II Fire Alarm Certification or equivalent.
2. California State Fire/Life Safety Technician License is highly desirable.
3. Must be able to work in various environmental conditions, including heat and cold, for extended periods.
4. Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and work at heights.
5. Must be willing to participate in on-call duty and be available for emergency service.
6. Must pass a background check and drug test.
