Job Description:

Prime Partners is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician with a minimum of 2 years of experience, specializing in new construction office buildings and hospitals. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of existing fire alarm systems. The role demands a highly detail-oriented and safety-conscious individual with a deep knowledge of commercial electrical work. This position will service Irvine and surrounding cities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm systems in new construction office buildings and hospitals.
2. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on fire alarm systems to ensure they are operational and compliant with local codes and regulations.
3. Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to understand the layout of the fire alarm systems.
4. Respond to emergency service calls and resolve technical issues promptly.
5. Provide recommendations on fire safety upgrades and improvements.
6. Prepare service reports and maintain records of maintenance and repair work.
7. Train clients on how to use the fire alarm systems and provide safety information.

Required Qualifications and Certifications:

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician.
3. Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
4. Certification from a recognized Fire Alarm System training program.
5. Knowledge of NFPA codes.
6. Good understanding of new construction electrical work.
7. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Specific Tools and Equipment Knowledge:

Applicants must have knowledge and experience with a variety of tools and equipment, including multimeters, hand tools, power tools, fire alarm control panels, and signaling devices.

Safety Requirements and Protocols:

The Fire Alarm Technician will strictly adhere to all safety protocols and procedures. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), following lockout/tagout procedures, and ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and responsible manner.
