Job Title: Fire Alarm Technician

Job Description:
We are seeking a technically proficient and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings, ensuring compliance with state and local safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and repair fire detection and alarm systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning correctly.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system defects or malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Work with building owners and managers to upgrade or replace outdated systems.
- Provide training and guidance to building occupants on how to use the fire alarm systems correctly.
- Comply with all safety regulations and procedures, and work in a manner that ensures the safety of both self and others.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding current fire alarm technologies and regulations.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and be able to troubleshoot and repair issues efficiently.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field preferred.
- 2-3 years’ experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or in a similar role.
- Certification or licensing as a Fire Alarm Technician as per state regulations.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
- Excellent knowledge of electrical systems and fire safety regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work at heights and lift heavy equipment.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check and drug screening.
- Must be available for on-call shifts during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must adhere to all company policies and procedures.
The Fire Alarm Technician will report directly to the Supervisor and will need to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. This position requires both physical stamina and mental acuity. The ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks is essential.
