Job Title: Commercial Journeyman Electrician

Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our team in Fremont, CA. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of electrical tasks, ensuring the safety and functionality of commercial electrical systems. You will work on various projects, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical circuits, appliances, and fixtures. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, thorough knowledge of electrical codes, and a strong commitment to safety procedures and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, modify, and repair all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment.
2. Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
3. Survey electrical systems, circuits, and plans.
4. Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches, and switch gears.
5. Run tests and inspections on electrical systems to ensure they are safe and well-functioning.
6. Adhere to all local and state regulations, policies, procedures of the electrical industry, and company guidelines.
7. Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other construction professionals.
8. Follow National Electrical Code state and local building regulations.
9. Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Valid state journeyman electrician license.
2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial electrical industry.
3. Understanding of electrical procedures and systems.
4. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
5. Proficient in using electrical diagnostic tools and equipment.
6. Excellent knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
7. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
8. Outstanding physical condition and manual dexterity.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Completion of electrician apprenticeship.
3. Proven experience as a commercial electrician.
4. Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools and electrical drawings and blueprints.
5. Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
6. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
7. Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
8. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions:

This position requires frequent physical labor, including lifting heavy objects, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces. Some tasks may include exposure to hazardous conditions. Safety training and protective clothing and equipment are provided. The position also requires availability for emergency call-outs and occasional overtime work.
