About the Position:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems in a variety of settings. This position requires a thorough understanding of fire alarm systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install new fire alarm systems according to blueprints or manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and codes.

2. Perform regular inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning correctly.

3. Identify and repair any faults or issues with the fire alarm systems, including wiring, detectors, control panels, sounders, and call points.

4. Provide training and guidance to customers on the operation and maintenance of their fire alarm system.

5. Prepare service reports, detailing all work done and any issues found.

6. Stay up-to-date with the latest fire alarm systems, technologies, and industry best practices.

7. Respond to emergency call-outs, diagnosing and fixing faults to ensure the fire alarm system is operational as quickly as possible.

Qualifications and Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent. An associate’s degree in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.

2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems.

3. Working knowledge of the National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code and local fire codes.

4. Must be licensed as a Fire/Life Safety Technician in the state of California.

5. Strong technical skills, including the ability to read and understand blueprints and technical diagrams.

6. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

7. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

8. Ability to work in various conditions, including high or confined spaces, and lift heavy equipment.

9. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

10. Must be willing to participate in on-call rotation for emergency service calls.
