Retail Data Center Technician Role Overview

At Nipper Electric, the Retail Data Center Technician plays a vital role in maintaining and optimizing electrical systems within commercial environments. This position requires a detail-oriented and skilled professional who can handle the complexities of data center operations within commercial projects. The Retail Data Center Technician will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to ensure the smooth operation of electrical systems in various commercial settings such as office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.

Requirements for Retail Data Center Technician

• Key Responsibilities for Commercial Projects:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in commercial settings.
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on Power Monitoring Systems (PMS).
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Implement Arc Flash safety measures and training within the team.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely completion of projects.

• Required Certifications:

  • First Aid/CPR
  • OSHA 30

• Experience With:

  • Power Monitoring Systems
  • Arc Flash Training
  • BICSI DC Certification

• Typical Projects:

  • Office Buildings
  • Retail Centers
  • Hospitals
  • Schools

• Additional Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of electrical experience
  • Valid electrical license for TX
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift heavy equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with BICSI DC Certification.
• Proven track record in handling commercial projects.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $26.4 - $31.43 per hour, depending on experience.
