Role Overview

As a Cable Tech in our Commercial division at Nipper Electric, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation and maintenance of complex electrical systems. This position involves working on significant projects such as office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools, ensuring that each system meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, test, and maintain network cables for commercial projects.
• Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to ensure timely project completion.
• Utilize fiber splicers, network testing tools, and cable certifiers to ensure system integrity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cable and connectivity issues promptly.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.

Required Certifications:

• Lift Certification
• Network+ Certification

Experience:

• Proficiency with Fiber Splicers (Fujikura) and Network Testing Tools.
• Familiarity with Cable Certifiers (Fluke DSX) is strongly preferred.
• 3-5 years of electrical experience in commercial settings.
• Must hold a valid electrical license for Florida.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
• Comfortable working in various environments, including high elevations and confined spaces.

Safety Knowledge:

• Understanding of safety standards and practices in electrical systems.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work site.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Cable Certifiers (Fluke DSX) is highly desirable.
• Prior experience working on commercial projects will be advantageous.

Location & Schedule

Primary Location: Miami, FL

The role will primarily be based in Miami, with potential projects in the surrounding cities, including Hialeah, Coral Gables, Miami Beach, North Miami, and Doral.

Schedule: Full-time

• Pay Range: $24.15-$27.27 per hour, commensurate with experience.
