The Apprentice Electrician Position

Core Apprentice Electrician Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities as an Apprentice Electrician will include assisting with residential electrical installations, running and securing cables through walls and ceilings, and preparing job site materials and tools. You’ll install basic fixtures such as outlets and switches, provide support for troubleshooting and repairs, and ensure compliance with safety standards on work sites. Additionally, you will be involved in more advanced tasks such as:

• Assisting in the installation of advanced electrical systems in commercial projects.
• Reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and schematics.
• Performing routine maintenance on electrical systems in compliance with regional safety codes.
• Participating in the installation of energy-efficient systems, such as solar panels, in line with Berkeley’s sustainability initiatives.

Required Experience & Skills

To be considered for the Apprentice Electrician position, a foundational understanding of residential wiring and circuits is essential. You should be comfortable using tools like pliers, drills, and other hand tools, and have strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Reliable transportation to various job sites is necessary. We require:

• 0-2 years of experience as an Apprentice Electrician.
• Essential certifications such as OSHA 10 or 30, and CPR/First Aid.
• Technical knowledge of electrical codes and regulations specific to California.

Tools & Equipment

Our Apprentice Electricians make use of a variety of tools daily, including wire strippers, voltage testers, and conduit benders. While MMR Group provides essential equipment, each apprentice is expected to have personal tools like a tool belt, multimeter, and basic hand tools. Company-provided equipment includes power drills, ladder access, and safety gear to ensure all tasks can be performed efficiently and safely.

Physical Requirements

The role of an Apprentice Electrician involves physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds, working in various conditions, including outdoors and in confined spaces, and being able to climb ladders and work from heights. Safety gear, such as hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves, is required to maintain a safe work environment.

Compensation Package
