Overview of the Healthcare Journeyman Electrician Role

As a Healthcare Journeyman Electrician at Howell Electric, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of commercial electrical projects. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in a variety of commercial settings, ensuring that all work complies with relevant codes and standards. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless operation of critical infrastructures, particularly in healthcare environments where precision and reliability are paramount.

Essential Functions

• Key Responsibilities for Commercial Projects:

  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in commercial facilities, including hospitals, office buildings, retail centers, and schools.
  • Interpret and apply electrical blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate installations.
  • Perform conduit bending and installation to specifications.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including OSHA 30 and Arc Flash Safety standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other trades to ensure timely project completion.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently.

• Required Certifications:

  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Arc Flash Safety Certification

• Experience with:

  • Conduit Bending
  • Blueprint Reading
  • Code Books

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of 4-8 years of electrical experience, with a focus on commercial projects.
• Valid electrical license for the state of California.
• Proven experience with conduit bending and blueprint reading.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
• Comprehensive knowledge of safety practices and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Arc Flash Safety certification.
• Proficiency with electrical code books and standards.
• Demonstrated experience in commercial project environments.

Location & Schedule

• Primary Location: Huntington Beach, CA
• Neighboring Cities: Costa Mesa, Westminster, Fountain Valley, Seal Beach, and Newport Beach.
• Schedule: Full-time, with potential for overtime as project demands dictate.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $39.59 - $46.82 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
