Position Overview at High Point Networks

We are seeking a skilled Cable Technician to join our team in Alexandria, VA. This role involves working on projects primarily within healthcare facilities in Alexandria and the surrounding areas. The Cable Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network cabling systems to ensure seamless communication and connectivity in critical healthcare environments.

Essential Functions for Cable Technician

• Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables in healthcare facilities.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of cabling systems and related network equipment.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
• Adhere to industry standards and company protocols to maintain safety and quality standards.
• Document network configurations and updates as needed.

Required Qualifications for Cable Technician at High Point Networks

• 2-5 years of experience in network cabling or a related field.
• Required certification: BICSI Installer 2.
• Proficient with Fiber Optic Tools and Cable Management Systems.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work in various physical environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certification: BICSI Technician.
• Experience with termination equipment and advanced cabling techniques.
• Specialized experience in healthcare facility cabling projects.
• Proficiency with network testing and diagnostic tools.

• Primary location: Alexandria, VA.
• Additional locations: Arlington, Fairfax, Springfield, and surrounding communities.
• Schedule: Full-time position with potential for overtime and occasional weekend work.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay range: $27.72-$32.18 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
