Overview of Office Data Center Technician Role

As an Office Data Center Technician at Helix Electric, you will be a vital member of our commercial projects team in Boston, MA. This role involves managing and maintaining data center operations within commercial environments, ensuring the seamless integration of electrical systems. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to deliver high-quality data center services that meet our clients’ needs.

Requirements for Office Data Center Technician

• Key Responsibilities for Commercial Projects:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems within data centers.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Utilize DCIM software to monitor and manage data center infrastructure.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.
  • Assist with planning and implementing new installations and upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed.

• Required Certifications:

  • CDCDP (Certified Data Center Design Professional) preferred.
  • CompTIA Server+ certification.

• Experience:

  • Proficiency in using DCIM Software.
  • Familiarity with OSHA 30 safety standards.
  • BICSI DC Certification is an advantage.
  • Typical project experience includes office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.
  • 3-5 years of electrical experience in a commercial setting.
  • Must possess a valid electrical license for the state of Massachusetts.

• Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Stamina to perform physical tasks for extended periods.

• Safety Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of electrical safety protocols.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with BICSI DC Certification is a significant plus.
• Prior commercial project experience is highly desirable, contributing to a smooth transition into our operations.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $27.26 - $32.64 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
