Job Title: Commercial Journeyman Electrician

Location: Anaheim, CA

Job Description: We are in search of a skilled and dedicated Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our team. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical codes, be able to troubleshoot problems effectively, and ensure that all work complies with relevant safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in commercial buildings.
2. Ensure compliance with all applicable state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code.
3. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
4. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with codes.
5. Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
6. Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
7. Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
8. Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of electrician apprenticeship.
3. Valid Journeyman Electrician license in the state of California.
4. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
5. Minimum of 4 years of experience as a journeyman electrician, preferably in commercial settings.
6. Proficient understanding of the National Electrical Code and local codes.
7. Exceptional troubleshooting skills and sound knowledge of electrical systems.
8. Ability to use electrical and hand tools, and electrical drawings or blueprints.
9. Ability to work independently and take initiative, as well as collaborate with a team.
10. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
11. Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and lift heavy items.

Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a variety of environments, including at heights, in confined spaces, and in inclement weather. The Commercial Journeyman Electrician may be required to lift, push, or pull items up to 50 pounds, and to stand, climb, or walk for extended periods.

Requirements:

All applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check. A valid driver’s license is required. Proof of personal auto insurance and a good driving record is a must for this role.
