Core Journeyman Electrician Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• EV Charging Station Expertise: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems for EV charging stations, including service panels, transformers, and associated components.
• Precision Conduit Work: Accurately measure, cut, and bend conduit (EMT, rigid), ensuring installations are perfectly aligned and adhere to NEC and California Electric Code standards.
• Electrical System Mastery: Conduct load calculations and install main service equipment for EV infrastructure, ensuring systems are safe and efficient.
• Collaboration and Leadership: Work alongside project managers and other trades to ensure timely, quality installations, while supervising apprentices and mentoring them on EV-specific systems.

Advanced Technical Duties

• Advanced Diagnostics: Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve complex electrical issues.
• System Integration: Integrate EV charging systems with existing electrical infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation.
• Regional Expertise: Implement region-specific solutions, considering local codes and environmental factors unique to Southern California.

Required Experience & Skills

Minimum Requirements

• Certification and Experience: Active journeyman electrician certification from the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of NEC and California Electric Code, especially concerning EV charging stations.
• Leadership and Communication: Proven ability to supervise apprentices, manage on-site safety, and communicate effectively with team members and clients.

Essential Certifications

• OSHA 30-Hour Certification
• CPR and First Aid Certification

Tools & Equipment

Daily Tools

• Personal Tools: A set of hand tools including screwdrivers, pliers, and wire strippers.
• Company-Provided Equipment: Power tools, conduit benders, and diagnostic equipment like multimeters.

Equipment Management

Journeymen are expected to maintain personal tools in good working condition, while Bright Move Energy provides specialized equipment necessary for complex installations.

Physical Requirements

Demands and Conditions

• Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Work Environment: Work in varied conditions, including outdoor settings and confined spaces.
• Safety Gear: Hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots are mandatory.
