Overview of Field Operations Fire Alarm Designer Role:

At West Coast Fire, the Field Operations Fire Alarm Designer plays a crucial role in our project management team. This position involves designing, implementing, and testing fire alarm systems to meet project specifications and regulatory standards. The designer will work closely with project managers, engineers, and installation teams to ensure seamless integration of fire alarm systems into larger construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of fire alarm technologies, building codes, and project management principles.

Essential Functions

  • Key Responsibilities for Project Management Projects:

    • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop fire alarm system designs that meet client needs and regulatory requirements.
    • Utilize Fire Alarm Design Software to create detailed plans and specifications.
    • Coordinate with installation teams to ensure accurate and timely implementation of fire alarm systems.
    • Conduct on-site inspections and testing of fire alarm systems to verify compliance with design specifications and codes.
    • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design plans, test results, and compliance reports.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to installation and maintenance teams.
  • Required Certifications:

    • NFPA 1041: Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications
    • NFPA 1042: Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications
  • Experience With:

    • Fire Alarm Design Software
    • Fire Alarm Installation Tools
    • Fire Alarm Testing Equipment
  • Typical Projects:

    • New Construction
    • Tenant Improvements
    • Renovations

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of electrical experience, with a focus on fire alarm systems.
  • Valid electrical license for Arizona.
  • Proficiency in using Fire Alarm Design Software and Fire Alarm Installation Tools.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the job, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of safety protocols and regulations pertaining to fire alarm systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Fire Alarm Testing Equipment.
  • Previous experience working on project management projects, particularly those involving fire alarm systems.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $40.3 - $47.42 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
