Position Overview at Vision Technologies
The Cable Technician position at Vision Technologies focuses on supporting healthcare facilities projects in Virginia Beach, VA, and the surrounding areas. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network cabling systems, ensuring high-quality and reliable telecommunications infrastructure for healthcare environments.
Essential Functions for Cable Technician
- Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables in healthcare facilities.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of existing network cabling systems.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
- Adhere to safety regulations and industry standards while working on-site.
- Document project progress and report any issues to supervisors.
Required Qualifications for Cable Technician at Vision Technologies
- 2-5 years of experience in cable installation and maintenance.
- Fiber Optic Certification is required.
- Proficient in using Wire Mapping Tools and Fiber Optic Tools.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work in various physical environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certification as a BICSI Installer 2 is preferred.
- Experience with termination equipment and techniques.
- Specialized experience in healthcare facility projects.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools related to cable installation.
Location & Schedule
- Primary location: Virginia Beach, VA
- Additional locations: Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Suffolk, VA
- Schedule: Full-time
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $26.1-$31.65 per hour
