Key Responsibilities

As a Fire Alarm Installation Technician at Teleco, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and security of commercial properties throughout the St. Petersburg area. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Installing fire alarm control panels and devices, pulling and terminating fire alarm cables, and mounting notification appliances and initiation devices.
• Assisting with system programming and testing to ensure all installations meet stringent safety standards.
• Maintaining detailed point-to-point wiring documentation to support seamless coordination and inspections.
• Coordinating with other trades for precise device placement and performing pre-wire and trim-out phases.
• Installing conduit and cable pathways while troubleshooting system wiring issues efficiently.
• Maintaining proper color coding and labeling for all installations to ensure clarity and safety.
• Assisting with final testing and inspections to guarantee all systems function optimally.
• Adhering to regional requirements for Florida, including compliance with the latest safety codes and standards.
• Engaging in the upcoming “Sunshine Plaza” project, a significant commercial development in St. Petersburg, where your expertise will be crucial to its success.

Required Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

• 1-3 years of experience working with commercial fire alarm systems, showcasing your expertise in the field.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding the intricacies of fire alarm circuit types.
• A solid understanding of NFPA 72 requirements and experience with basic programming.
• The ability to use multimeters and testing equipment effectively, ensuring precise installations and troubleshooting.
• Outstanding attention to detail for meticulous documentation and an understanding of voltage drop calculations.
• Excellent communication skills for seamless coordination with team members and other trades.
• Familiarity with the St. Petersburg area and its specific building codes and regulations, ensuring compliance and safety.
