The Fire Alarm Technician Position

As a Fire Alarm Technician at Tech Electronics, you will be an integral part of a highly skilled team dedicated to safeguarding lives and property. Core Fire Alarm Technician Responsibilities
Key Duties and Regional Project Insights
- Installation and Maintenance: Install, inspect, and maintain fire alarm systems, ensuring all components, including control panels, smoke detectors, and pull stations, meet design specifications and safety standards.
- System Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform rigorous system testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve functionality issues, ensuring compliance with local fire codes.
- Integration and Coordination: Collaborate with general contractors and electricians to seamlessly integrate fire alarm systems with other building systems.
- Documentation and Training: Document installation and maintenance details, providing clear records for compliance and client use. Train end-users on the operation of fire alarm systems and respond to service calls as needed.
- Advanced Technical Duties: Engage in complex system programming, perform network integration for multi-building campuses, and conduct advanced diagnostics using specialized software.
- Safety Protocols: Adhere to strict safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe handling of wiring and components, and compliance with OSHA standards.
Required Experience & Skills
Essential Experience and Certifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician.
- Proficiency with fire alarm control panels and programming.
- Strong understanding of local fire codes and NFPA standards.
- Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining fire alarm systems.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Essential Certifications: NICET Level II or higher in Fire Alarm Systems, OSHA 10-hour certification.
Technical Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems and network integration.
- Familiarity with the latest fire alarm technologies and innovations.
