Fiber Optic Splicing Technician at Staley Technologies
Position Overview
Staley Technologies is seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Splicing Technician to join our forward-thinking team in Fort Worth, TX. This role is essential for connecting our varied client base, ranging from Managed Service Providers to Enterprise Clients and Cloud Services. As part of a specialized team, this position requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence in fiber optic splicing and testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform fiber optic splicing and testing using OTDR, Fusion Splicers, and related tools.
- Install, maintain, and repair fiber optic infrastructure in colocation facilities.
- Work closely with team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to high standards.
- Ensure all installations meet industry standards and client specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of fiber optic systems.
- Document and report on project progress and issues.
Required Qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience in fiber optic splicing and testing.
- ETA Fiber Optics and OFC Specialist certifications.
- Proficiency with OTDR, Fusion Splicers, Power Meters, and Visual Fault Locators.
Preferred Qualifications
- BICSI Technician and FOA CFOT certifications.
- Experience in colocation facility environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
