Fiber Optic Splicing Technician at Staley Technologies
Position Overview
Staley Technologies is seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Splicing Technician to join our cutting-edge team in Dallas, TX. This role is pivotal in supporting high-performance data connectivity in edge data centers, serving telecom providers, content delivery networks, and IoT services. As a technician, you will lead a dynamic team of 4-6 technicians, ensuring seamless fiber optic splicing and network optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of technicians in fiber optic splicing operations.
- Perform complex splicing and testing using fusion splicers, visual fault locators, power meters, and OTDR.
- Regularly travel to nearby major cities for project implementation and support.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company standards in all operations.
- Diagnose and repair fiber optic systems to maintain optimal network performance.
Required Qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience in fiber optic splicing and network infrastructure.
- Certified as a FOA CFOT (Fiber Optic Technician) and ETA Fiber Optics Technician.
- Proficiency in using fusion splicers, visual fault locators, power meters, and OTDR.
- Ability to manage and lead a team effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified as an OFC Specialist and BICSI Technician.
- Familiarity with the specific connectivity needs of telecom providers, content delivery networks, and IoT services.
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and resolving complex fiber optic issues.
