Position Overview

Staley Technologies is seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Splicing Technician to join our dynamic team in Atlanta, GA. This role involves working within edge data centers serving telecom providers, content delivery networks, and IoT services. As part of a specialized team of 3-5 professionals, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless fiber optic connectivity within a 30-mile radius of your home base. This position offers flexible working hours to accommodate project needs and demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform precise fiber optic splicing and testing using tools such as fusion splicers, visual fault locators, and OTDR.
• Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure optimal performance of fiber optic networks.
• Collaborate with team members to efficiently plan and execute installation projects.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work completed and materials used.
• Troubleshoot and resolve fiber optic network issues promptly and effectively.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Required Qualifications

• 4-7 years of experience in fiber optic splicing and testing.
• FOA CFOT and ETA Fiber Optics certifications.
• Proficiency with tools such as fusion splicers, visual fault locators, power meters, and OTDR.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Advanced knowledge of edge data center operations.
• Familiarity with Atlanta’s telecommunications landscape.
• Previous experience working with telecom providers or content delivery networks.
