Work as a Security Technician in Hollywood, FL at Rogers Electric. This opportunity allows exposure to a variety of security systems in a dynamic field. The work will span across Hollywood and neighboring cities of Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, and Miramar. This entry-level position provides a unique chance to get hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting security systems.

Key Responsibilities

As a Security Technician, your core responsibilities will include installing and configuring security systems, that include cameras and access control devices. You’ll perform routine system maintenance and updates, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and conduct site assessments for optimal equipment placement.

You’ll also be responsible for managing system documentation and warranties, ensuring compliance with security protocols, and assisting with the network integration of security devices. Providing training to end-users is also a key part of this role.

In addition, you’ll coordinate with vendors for repairs or upgrades, participate in testing and commissioning of new systems, adhere to safety and installation standards, and maintain inventory of equipment and materials.

Additional security technician-specific responsibilities include:

• Ensuring proper functioning of security systems at all times
• Providing on-call support for any emergency situations or system failures
• Keeping up-to-date with advancements and trends in security technology
• Installing and maintaining security software on computers as needed

You’ll also need to adhere to all regional requirements for the state of Florida. Be prepared to take on upcoming security technician projects in Fort Lauderdale.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of security systems and networks. You should be able to read and follow technical manuals and have proficiency with basic hand and power tools. Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication and teamwork abilities, attention to detail and organizational skills are a must.

You should also show a willingness to learn and stay updated on emerging security technologies, and possess the physical ability to handle and install equipment.

Other security technician-specific qualifications include:

• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role
• Familiarity with various types of security systems, including CCTV and access control systems
• Proficiency in network integration and configuration
