Overview of the Retail Data Center Technician Role

As a Retail Data Center Technician at Priority Electrical Services, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our clients’ data center operations within a commercial environment. Your primary focus will be on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical and network systems in various commercial settings. You will work closely with a team of skilled professionals, employing your technical expertise to support our customers’ critical infrastructure needs.

Requirements for Retail Data Center Technician

Key Responsibilities for Commercial Projects

• Install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
• Perform regular maintenance and repairs on network testing equipment and cable management systems.
• Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and building regulations and protocols.
• Document maintenance activities and prepare reports for management review.

Required Certifications

• First Aid/CPR
• OSHA 30

Experience and Skills

• 3-5 years of electrical experience in a commercial setting.
• Valid electrical license for Texas.
• Proficiency with network testing equipment and cable management systems.
• Familiarity with environmental monitoring tools is a plus.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with environmental monitoring tools.
• Previous experience working on commercial projects such as office buildings, retail centers, hospitals, and schools.

Location & Schedule

The primary location for this role is Fort Worth, TX. As a Retail Data Center Technician, you may also be required to work in neighboring cities, including Arlington, Haltom City, North Richland Hills, Burleson, and Benbrook. This is a full-time position, with typical working hours reflecting the demands of the projects and the needs of our clients.
